Starting Thoughts
For my 3-D project I wanted to do a coin holder because I thought it would be nice to finally have something where I can organize my coins.
Research For Coin Holder
This is my coin research. I had to find out the widths and the diameters of a nickle, penny, dime, and quarter. I then had to multiple the number of coins I must have it each slot times the width. For an example I had to be able to put in 50 pennies, so I must do 50 times 0.0598 to get the total height of the coin column in order to fit all 50 pennies.
Design Of Coin Holder
This is my design of my coin holder when I made it in Inventor.
This is my design that I exported into MakerBot to put in the information to have it prepared for printing.
Printing Time
This is my design of the coin holder that is printing in the MakerBot Machine. I choose the color green because I thought it would be a unique color, and also someone was using the white.
Finished Product
This is my coin holder once it was finished being print off in the MakerBot.
Being Put To Use
This is my coin holder being used with a correct coin in each hole.
What I Learned
Throughout this project I have learned how to more confidently work with Inventor and with the MakerBot Machine. I have found that this process can actually be pretty simple once you get through the designing process.
